Nordic Artists of New York (NANY) is an independent, artist-driven organization dedicated to uniting, elevating, and inspiring Nordic and Baltic artistry in New York.

Our mission is to unite the Nordic and Baltic creative community of New York,
elevate and showcase the high level and variety of New York-based Nordic artistry, and
inspire new collaborative projects between artists and cultural organizations.
Our work is grounded in Nordic values of environmentalism, equity and inclusivity.

Why NANY?

New York is home to several Nordic and Baltic cultural organizations, foundations, societies and clubs with similar missions and shared demographics, but no connection or communication between them. By inviting everyone onto one shared platform, we nurture cross-cultural and cross-organizational collaboration, resource pooling, and sense of community.

In the hustle and bustle of New York, it is easy for immigrant artists to lose ties to their roots. NANY aims to foster Nordic connectedness and cultural heritage in modern ways, fit for global citizens, expatriates, and Americans with Nordic or Baltic ancestry.

As a global hub for art and culture, New York City presents many opportunities for Nordic and Baltic artists to represent their homeland in the global arena. Currently, the majority of these opportunities (and most organizational support) is directed towards flying artists across the Atlantic for one-off presentations in NYC. NANY’s mission is to elevate the amazing Nordic and Baltic talent already on the ground in New York, equipped with an international career, globally recognized industry accolades and wide-spread local networks.
